What I know for sure is this: there is no shortage of need in Central Florida. But just as true—there is no shortage of heart. For more than 16 years, I’ve had the honor of working alongside nonprofit and for profit organizations across Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Lake counties—organizations that spring into action the moment a need is identified. It’s one of the things I love most about this community: we don’t just recognize challenges, we rise to meet them. In my experience, Anything is Posh Able®.
One organization especially close to my heart is Dave’s House. Over the past few years, I’ve had the joy of partnering with them not just as an event strategist for Dave’s House Party, but as a communications and development partner— it’s a uniquely collaborative relationship rooted in purpose and shared passions.
At its core, Dave’s House exists to end homelessness for adults living with serious mental illness. For more than 16 years, this Central Florida nonprofit has been creating permanent supportive housing in partnership with behavioral health providers—homes that offer not just shelter, but dignity, healing, and community. What began with a single home has grown into a network of nine residences across four Florida markets, including four in Orange County. And now, a bold new chapter is unfolding: the organization is preparing to break ground on its first multi-unit residential community in Seminole County.
That sense of momentum—and the impact it represents—was at the heart of Dave’s House Party 2024. As the Dave’s House Team is underway with plans for the 2025 event, we wanted to take a look back. Last year’s event was an unforgettable celebration of progress and purpose. Held under the theme Back to the Future, the 2024 Dave’s House Party was a night filled with nostalgia, heart, and community support.

Guests were greeted by a fully customized Dave’s House DeLorean, along with period actors who helped guide the evening’s energy—from the interactive pre-party into the mainstage program. It was more than just a party; it was a vibrant tribute to what’s possible when a community comes together to support mental health and housing access.

The event was well-attended by leaders and supporters from across the region, a clear demonstration of how deeply this mission resonates. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the presentation of the Dr. Joel C. Hunter Legacy Award to Michael Griffin, Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy at AdventHealth.

The room was moved by the powerful words from Dr. Hunter himself, along with emcee Christina Watkins of WESH2News, Dave’s House co-founder Ron Wilensky, CEO Ellen O’Connor, and Board Chair Elena Norman—each reminding us why this work matters.
Looking Ahead: Mission Possible at Dave’s House Party 2025 is set for Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Sheraton Orlando North, this year’s event embraces the theme Mission Possible—a bold reflection of the progress being made and the belief that we can solve homelessness with heart and housing. This year, we’re proud to honor Orange County Mayor Jerry L. Demings with the 2025 Dr. Joel C. Hunter Legacy Award, in recognition of his ongoing leadership in advancing mental health services and expanding access to affordable housing across the region. Dave’s House Party continues to be a cornerstone of the organization’s fundraising and outreach efforts—and I’m honored to help bring it to life once again.
